Here is the very first copper roof cap we made as a donation to Waverly's Children Home here in Portland, Oregon, where my oldest Daughter was in Day Treatment for her learning disability. I offered to install it on their large 8 sided smoker's gazebo they just had built. I also donated new white aluminum gutters around this roof. As you see below the roof cap was not large enough to cover the erratic shingles at the top, but it was better than nothing. It seems the contractor felt it needed no cap at all. You just pile enough shingles at the peak and it should not leak? Cost: $0. It was a donation. Looking back it should have been larger draping down another 8" to cover the crooked hip shingles. |
