Here is a pair of 18" wide turret roof caps
(not including the tails)
for a house in Elizabethtown, Kentucky that we made for a client,
David Bower MD and his wife Leslie.
Here is the whole house the caps went onto. These are small 1/8 scale roof caps for the 12' wide roofs under them. That is the way they wanted it. You may feel that the tail design detail is some-what lost one these roof caps that are so small. |
It goes on their 8 sided 12/12 pitch roof peaks. We made these with a 14/12 pitch for the lower section with a 32/12 pitch on the upper section, with a sealed weathervane support pipe in the center of each cap. They designed the look for the tails personally, and we were happy to recreated it for them from the diagram they sent. |
This is the back side of the cap after installation. To the right is the cap with their cute weathervane installed. We attached the upper cap with copper rivets hidden on the inside of the cap through the folded-under lip of copper of the top cap. Cost: $580 for both caps php |
