This was kind of a funny story; Bob Bedzyk contacted us to make them just a 12" wide aluminum cap for a 5/12 pitch roof on a an 18' wide gazebo they built for a client there in Livonia Michigan. That would have been smaller than the center cone shown here. I wrote back explaining how I have a $200 minimum charge, and with that they could get a cap that is nearly twice that wide made out of the 20oz copper we normally use, which cost us 5X more than the same thickness aluminum. That would have been way too small of a roof cap on such a large gazebo? Instead he ended up having me make this 28" wide copper cap; to be only at a 1/8 scale size to this large gazebo roof. The main base cap section is made at a 6/12 pitch and I added this 13" wide center cone at a 16/12 pitch for some added style. what do you think? Cost: $275 php |
