First off, I am not claiming to be an expert designer of water features. I have fabricated these, but I had not designed any of these water features shown below. We just followed the specifications given to us by our Clients, and I may make some suggestions to improve their durability, looks, and function. Water features can be made with just 20oz copper, but it is recommended to build these with a thicker 32oz to 48oz copper for better durability and dent resistance. The edges are carefully sanded, so they have no rough sharp edges exposed. These were water tested to make sure the soldered seams do not leak, but we cannot guarantee the water flow action will meet you desired effect, as there are a lot of different factors that need to be worked out before fabrication and after installation to adjust the flow. Any amount of testing beforehand is important to the success of these water-features. Before making these in copper they can be formed in a cheaper metal or plastic to test the action you will be getting. They would need to be hooked up at your location with what ever water source you are using, since I cannot accurately recreate that here at my shop. Here are some of the details that need to be worked out, which can vary this action seen out of the mouth of a water-feature:

Narrow Flow Hidden Chamber Water Feature (8/2013) This was a set of 4 custom water features made for a client named Rick Kennamer in Scottsdale, Arizona. They were built to his specification for $150 each plus freight. This was made with a 3" inside diameter copper pipe that is a 16.5" long spout sealed to a back chamber that is 3" deep X 5" wide X 5" tall. The inlet in the back wall is a 1.5" male treaded pipe. The back chamber was made with 32oz copper. The back chamber was made in just 2 pieces for minimal seams.
Here are links to some videos I took to share with this Client: |
Wide Flow Hidden Chamber Water Feature (6/2012) This is a set of 3 custom water features made for a local client named Brian Martel built to his specification for $357 total for all 3 units. The back chamber is 4" deep X 5" wide X 6" tall with a 15" long tray out the front. The inlet is a 1" female treaded pipe. These were made with 20oz copper for the back chamber, and a thicker 32oz copper for the front tray. The back chamber was made in a single piece for minimal seams. |
Decorative Face Water Feature Spouts (5/2012) This is a pair of custom water features made for Crystal Pools in Columbia, South Carolina built to their specification for $700 delivered. They are 7" wide X 10" tall plus a 3/8" flange around. The inlet is a 2" female treaded pipe. These also have a 1/4" stainless steel bolt for a ground post. These were made with 32oz copper for the back chamber, and a thicker 48oz copper for the front half. The spout was made from a 3" copper water pipe cut in half longwise to extend 4.5" out past the outer face. The back with the flange was made in a single piece. I had to do half a dozen water tests on each unit to make sure it would work and not leak out any soldered seams. Here is the video I took of one water test to show the clients how it functions with just a garden hose hooked up to it:

Flat Wide Pour Water Feature (3/2007) This is a custom water feature we formed with 32oz copper with 24oz copper side pieces. It was for a client named Jason Ambrose in Phoenix Arizona. This is 32" wide and 8" tall. The back, bottom and front was all made in a single sheet. The second photo was just from the water test I did here to make sure it would work and not leak out the sides. I did find a leak from the first test. The final cost with shipping was $288. |
Free-standing Water Feature (8/2006) This is a water feature I made back in mid 2006 from a 3" vertical pipe with a sloped 1" pipe running through it. The Landscaper install this and hooked up the water supply. The cost was $600 |
Dribble Boxes Water Feature (1/2000) This is a water feature I made from a card board model that was made by the client. |
