This was just a simple roof cover I made for a general contractor: Wes Gerber Better Homes Design and Remodel Inc. 503-481-9332. He had been working with his Daughter on remodeling this house for the last couple years and was asked to build this entry way cover with some style, given the limited space he had to work with between the doorway and the low eaves.

After this was finished he told me how he got a quote from Montavilla Sheet Metal that was $5k to $8k to make this copper cover with a thinner copper than what I used.

He felt that was way too high, so he did some research and found this web site. I was able to provide this along with the copper gutters and downspouts with assistance installing them for under $2k.

This wood structure was covered with a Water & Ice Shield underlayment to insulate the metal fasteners from the copper cover. Then these 2 full 3' x 10' sheets cover that with some custom drip-edge flashing on each end, since this was just over 10' wide. The 2 full sheet were able to have a 6" overlap and also flash up the side of the house and bent down over the outer side to be as seamless as possible. Sheets any larger would have been to hard to handle.
