Here is one of our custom copper roof projects we did at 2703 N. E. 11th in Portland Oregon for our client named Danielle Flagg. Like above, our specialty is to design copper covers as seamless and clean looking as possible, while still attached strong enough to withstand high wind situations. The old painted steel roof cover had been coated several times over, but was rusty and leaking.

Back when this house was built they did not have plywood. These 1x6 boards you see here were the best they had to work with. I covered these boards with a smooth hardwood plywood to smoothen this surface out and keep the old nails from rising and denting the new copper cover. Then I covered this plywood with a rubber Water & Ice Shield underlayment (ungranulated).

We custom made these troths fit in on each side to catch the run-off with drains that are 4 times the size of the original that funnels down to a standard 2x3 downspout that drops into our Leaf-catcher down below. 

made these panels from 3' x 10' sheets of the 20oz copper overlapping 6" or more and sealed with our Pro 34 sealant. We bent a 1.5" seam across the outer edge and crimped it to make this arch to follow the shape of the roof. Below right shows it complete with the downspouts installed. It is held in place with stainless steel screws.

A future contractor would have a very hard time removing this copper roof cover, but hopefully that will not be needed again. The cost was $2,921 for the 97.5+ square feet of copper used to cover this arched entry roof.
