This is a copper turret roof peak cap I made for Jacob and Beth Appelsmith in Sacramento, California for their home. It was designed to have the standard 8 sides on this turret roof. They had already purchased this Fleur De Lis finial to go on top, but needed a good way to mount it, so they had done their research and contacted me. Here is the photos of it's fabrication I had shared with this client before shipping: Even though this area will probably never get wet or have any Sun exposure I used some clear caulk over these seams, solder and rivets to seal it and covered the caulk with this black tape to help keep the caulk sealed from oxygen to increase it's life span. This second photo above was taken by the client with his Nikon D80 camera just before installation. |
This shows the wood crate I custom make for each of these to safely survive the journey. The corner boards are pre-drilled and screwed together and a hardwood plywood outer shell is glued and screwed over this frame. They just remove the screws along the bottom edge to open the crate and lift off the top/sides of it. The final cost without the finial was $652.50 with a crate and shipping |
