Other Unusual One-time Custom Copper
and Aluminum Sheet Metal
Design/Fabrication Photo Page |
Updated 5-22-2007

| Most all
the work we do is very custom work to order. Here are some examples of the more
unusual custom sheet-metal fabrication we have done to show our
versatility and to better show what we are able to offer. Even if your
needs are different than what is shown on these pages, this shows how we
are able to help brainstorm solutions, design, and fabricate nearly
anything you may need.
We do ship orders all
over the Nation as well, so don't be shy. Write us an e-mail to ask
if we can help with your special project.

32oz Copper
Counter Top Covered |
|

Here is a thick copper counter top cover I
made for a client named Mark Bepler in Wilsonville Oregon. He had read how copper kills germs 10
times faster than on a dry stainless steel sheet metal surface. He
made this oak plywood counter top to fit over their kitchen island after exploring different options
with me. He made it to cover the granite tile they have, and to extend a few
more inches out past the shorter ends. I also recommended that he have the
corners chopped off at 45 degree angles, so there is less problem with
people getting hurt on those corners.

I had contracted to cover
this sheet of oak plywood with 24oz copper for $800, but when picking up the
4' x 8' sheet for this project, I found out that the copper prices had
dropped again about $2 per pound (2/07), so I got a thicker sheet of 32oz
copper for better dent resistance. The whole sheet of copper was 64lb. After
installed it weighs over 100lb with the oak plywood.

David:
Here's a
couple shots of the countertop installed - and with several days of
discoloration... It continues to look better with each passing
day, and we're very pleased with it. Thanks again.

Copper Covered Wood Bench Seat |
|
Here is a window well cover
on a back patio that we covered to help darken his media room down
stairs for our client Dale Yocum, who lives just above the Metro
Zoo, at 4343 S.E. Fairview Blvd in Portland Oregon. It was
completed in August of 2002. We also replaced the copper gutters and
built a copper covered awning just to the right of this seat.

This window well did not
have the brick border you see. The client wanted
to make that basement room into a media room, so he wanted me to darken
the window wells. I covered the other window wells that were in the
bushes with painted aluminum sheet metal over the clear plastic cover on a
wood frame, but he wanted this one to look a bit fancier.

We came up with
this idea where I did the masonry work around this window well to build it up for this bench seat that is
removable. The bench seat was made with epa hardwood. We glued and screwed
them together. We then covered that wood in copper sheet metal, so
that it will drain on either end.

Here is the same bench seat a couple
years latter

Water
Features |
|

This
is a custom water feature we made out of 32oz copper with 24oz
copper side pieces. It was for a client named Jason Ambrose in Phoenix
Arizona. It was 32" wide and 8" tall. The back, bottom and front was all
made in a single sheet. The second photo was just from the water test I
did here to make sure it would work and not leak out the sides. I did
find a leak from the first test. The final cost with shipping was $288. |

Mailboxes |

This
security mailbox I made (11-03) with a 3/4" birch plywood
frame, covered in 16oz copper. This shows some different kind of
design and fabrication work we can do.

Copper
Mask |
| Here is a face mask
I made for an event we went to in the summer of 2003. Besides being a
little heavy, it was pretty comfortable. this is a demonstration of our
versatility in design and fabrication. If you can imagine it, there
is a good chance we can make it a reality.
